What is it missing?

It occurred to me the other day that the iPad is the first computer in decades that, as a desktop incarnation, has no mouse. Yeah, I know, it's touch-based -- but look at it in the pic above. Your fingers have to go from typing on the keyboard to -- ungainly reach -- press an icon or screen space on the iPad. It's kinda awkward.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple figures this out and put a USB connection on the keyboard to allow a mouse. (And you *know* a USB port, mini or otherwise, is coming in Rev. B of the iPad. Along with GPS. And a camera. Which is why I'm waiting.

This has the potential to be the perfect computer for my dad, who really only does garden-variety web browsing and e-mail. If Jobs et al can get around the Flashlessness and the above-mentioned hardware shortcomings, they'll have a sale from me.

Although with over 100,000 selling on Day 1, they likely don't need my business that badly.
